The Tan Group hosted Prof. Sophie Primig (UNSW Sydney) for a seminar on Microstructure Engineering via Additive Manufacturing of Common Stainless Steels. The session sparked engaging discussions on advancing AM-enabled physical metallurgy at NUS.

Prof Ding Xiang Dong and Prof Chen Kai from Xi’an Jiaotong University visited ADAPT Lab.
Prof Yu Qian and Prof Gu Lin visits Tan Group & ADAPT Lab (Aug 2025)
Prof Yu Qian from Zhejiang University and Prof Gu Lin from Tsinghua University visited Tan Group and Analytical Defect Atom Probe Tomography (ADAPT) Lab. Prof Yu Qian delivered a seminar on ‘In-situ TEM study on structural evolutions’.
Visit to West Java (Aug 2025)
The Tan Group visited the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Jakarta, where Dr. Tan delivered a presentation at a seminar hosted by BRIN. The group also visited Laser Indonesia and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), engaging in productive discussions that fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Tan Group attends APICAM (Jul 2025)
The Tan Research Group participated in the 4th Asia-Pacific International Conference on Additive Manufacturing (APICAM 2025), presenting both oral and poster contributions. During the trip, the team also had the opportunity to visit leading research facilities at RMIT, Monash University, ANSTO, and Deakin University. The visit concluded with a scenic journey along the Great Ocean Road.

At The Minerals, Metals and Materials (TMS) 154th Annual Meeting, Prof. Tan joined over 4,000 researchers in Las Vegas, Nevada. He delivered presentations on, ‘Powder-Size Driven Facile Microstructure Control for Enhanced Mechanical
